Between the Lines

"There's a far away land, so the stories all tell
Somewhere beyond the horizon
If we can find it, then all will be well!
Troubles there are few
Someday we'll go to
Solla Sollew"
-Horton the Elephant, Solla Sollew (Seussical)

At this point, I still haven't really decided what this blog is going to be about. I could blog about my life. Or something that randomly strikes my fancy (like I was going to do this great post being all upset that we're still in Iraq, but now the war's over apparently! Like, legit over this time instead of fake over. Except we all know that's not true, because until the very last soldier is home, nothing's over. So maybe I will make that post...)

I don't think this blog isn't going to be about being funny. Most other people's blogs I read, I read because they're hillarious. So therefore I can't be funny, just to be different. You can't force the funny, especially from people with a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor.

I wrote a paper for school the other day reviewing a book I had to read. I was being serious about reading the book out loud in a high pitched British accent to prevent myself falling asleep. Somehow, people found that funny. I was only telling the truth!

So I don't know where I'm going with this blog post...I was originally going to talk about the naming of my blog but I kinda got sidetracked. So let's go to my original idea!

If you are a drama geek, like me, then you should completely understand the reference in my blog title without explanation. If you aren't a drama geek though, you might be somewhat confused. Or simply have come up with a random explanation of your own.

My reasoning is really rather simple. Last year, our drama department performed Seussical as our annual fall musical. And honestly, we did an INCREDIBLE job with that show! Not even gonna lie, we were so pro. But anyways, the opening number is called "O The Thinks You Can Think!" and since I had no idea what I would come up with for this blog, I felt the title was appropriate. Plus I love the show and Dr. Seuss to pieces!

And that is why my blog is named as it is :)

Guilty Confession

I've read Listening is an Act of Love, and read and written my paper on The Lucifer Effect. I still have to read and annotate 1/2 of The Scarlet Letter, and actually read Adams vs Jefferson. School starts in a week. I'm screwed. And if you think all this is bad, wait till the school year actually starts!

Last night, as I was creating this blog, I came to the sudden realization that I will have no free time come September 7th. So when am I honestly going to have time to blog? Well, I've got a confession to make. The night I first made this blog, I made like a bajillion different posts, so I can just click "post" if I don't have time to blog. Ingenius, right?

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Blogging is so overrated. I first started out blogging when it was really popular in '07/'08, but then I moved back home from overseas and gradually forgot to update. Facebook took over the whole blogging thing! But now, in the summer of '10, all of a sudden EVERYONE got a blog, and it would seem I have too.

I should be vlogging:
  1. I like talking. A lot.
  2. I can talk faster than I can type.
  3. Making videos requires focus, and I tend to get quite distracted when typing things up.
  4. charlieissocoollike inspires me.
  5. Blogging is overrated.

So why am I blogging? I really don't know.

Note: Blogger has improved a LOT since I last used it! So, I'm eagerly experimenting with different layouts/color combinations and such...don't be surprised if the format changes as you're reading a post! =P
